Kaiasm Launches AI Sitemaps: Bridging Traditional SEO and AI-Powered Search

Software firm introduces experimental service to help businesses become visible in Google AI Overviews and AI services like ChatGPT

Frome, UK – 7th November 2025 – Kaiasm, a UK-based software firm with a history in SEO consultancy, today announced the launch of AI Sitemaps, an experimental service that combines traditional SEO with semantic web technologies to help businesses make their content understandable to both search engines and AI assistants.

The service is being launched by Steve Johnston, Kaiasm's co-founder and a seasoned SEO professional with deep expertise in data science and knowledge engineering. Johnston recognised that as search evolves from delivering links to providing direct answers through AI, businesses need a new approach to ensure their content is not just found, but truly understood.

“Traditional XML sitemaps tell search engines where your pages are, but we believe they can be a vehicle to inform AI search of what your content actually means or how it relates to other concepts that matter to you,” said Johnston. “With Google's AI Overviews, ChatGPT, and other AI assistants now powering search, businesses need a more detailed semantic layer that helps these systems understand and trust their content enough to feature it in AI-generated answers. We know how to build these layers, but we needed to find a delivery mechanism for them.”

AI Sitemaps combine standard sitemap markup with RDF/OWL semantic ontologies, creating a machine-readable knowledge model of a company's content. The approach is grounded in research showing that large language models perform better when provided with structured ontologies. In Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems powering many AI search tools, ontologies help models understand domain-specific relationships and terminology, leading to more accurate responses.

The service is enabled by OntoKai, Kaiasm's proprietary software platform for building and managing semantic models and ontologies. OntoKai streamlines the process of transforming business data and knowledge into formal semantic representations, enabling rapid deployment of knowledge models that would traditionally require months of manual engineering by hard-to-find specialists.

As an experimental service, AI Sitemaps represents Kaiasm's exploration of how semantic web standards can address emerging challenges of AI-powered search. Alongside this development work, the firm is planning full integration with on-page Schema.org.

“We're not replacing traditional sitemaps—we're extending them for the age of AI search,” Johnston explained. “We hope this will help position businesses for how people will find information in the future.”

Early adopter client, Sarah Clough, who is Head Of Digital and Customer Experience at Forthglade Natural Pet Food (https://forthglade.com/) has been a beneficiary of Kaiasm's innovation and support in a previous role at Screwfix. She said of the new service "We're delighted to be an early client of the AI Sitemaps service. Steve's team has always brought new and effective tools to the website manager, and we have no doubt that the AI Sitemaps service is the next one. We're relaxed about its experimental nature as we are confident that this is a step towards an effective integration with AI tools".

Kaiasm is now accepting clients for AI Sitemap implementation, with a £10k minimum investment required. The service includes taxonomy analysis, ontology design using OntoKai and AI sitemap generation; integration with existing SEO sitemap deployments is straightforward and in the clients' hands.
